Dead man walking


Someone’s whose longevity at their job or situation is very short. ‘Dead man’ is used in the sense that whatever their position in society has been, it is going to change due to circumstances or their poor decisions. The fact that a dead man is walking means, they have not died but their importance or status has greatly declined. (Compare to Goner.)
