DEFINITION

Give something to someone. One may hand-over a car to their child or hand-over a loaded gun to an authority figure. May also suggest one is forced to provide an item to someone such as the police want you  to hand-over a suspect or the evidence, for example.

“Son, I’m going to hand-over my business to you, I trust you can run it well.”
