Handed on a silver platter

DEFINITION

Received unearned success or status. The fact that it is something handed to you on a silver platter, suggests something given easily with great fanfare. Typically, used as a disparaging portrayal of someone who has something they did not pay for through hard work nor money.

“His dad is the owner of the company, he didn’t earn that job, ,he had it handed to him on a silver platter.”
