Hard feelings

DEFINITION

Upset. Resentful. Implies that one’s feelings have been hurt by someone in an earlier incident. ‘Hard’ is in opposition to soft, warm feelings. (Compare to Bend one’s nose out of shape or Nose outta whack.)

“I’m sorry I stepped on your toes dancing, but I  hope you don’t have hard feelings about it, It was just an accident.”
