DEFINITION

Try to negotiate a resolution. Attempt to resolve differences. Come to a mutual understanding. ‘Hash’ is used in the sense of a hopped up mixture of ingredients that must be carefully unraveled to realize a satisfactory outcome. (Compare to Hammer out, Iron out or Work it out.)

“As a married couple with children, you two have to work with one another to hash out your differences!”
