DEFINITION

Small advantage. Implies a competition and that one has some added superiority in performing. ‘Edge’ suggests that one is closer to reaching the edge of a confrontation than your adversary. Also used as ‘inside edge’ meaning an advantage as well.¬† (Compare to Inside track or Stack the cards in ones favor.)

“I think that with those new athletic shoes, you will have an edge on the other team.”
