Hit a wall

DEFINITION

Resistance.  Meet an immovable force. Reached a dead end. Imagine a car hitting a wall, it makes no further progress forward, thusly people and projects can also hit a wall that prevents success. (Compare to Comeup short, Dead on arrival or Train has left the station.)

“I tried to reason with my dad about getting a car, but he won’t listen, I’ve hit a wall with him”.
