Old lady

DEFINITION

Endearing term for mother or girlfriend. Although it may seem demeaning, it can be a loving phrase if spoken with reverence. Hippies often called their live-in girl friends as old lady as well. (Contrast with Old coot, Old crow or Old fogey.)
