DEFINITION

Awkward situation. Improper order, such as an alphabetical listing which is wrong. If you go to a costume party without a costume, you are out of place. If you are the only adult in a children’s choir, you are out of place.

“We  had to get rid of the statue in our front yard because it was out of place with our decore.”
