Pitter Patter

Pitter Patter                                                                               August 15, 2018

Pitter patter goes the footsteps of my grand-daughter. How wonderful but then I really put my foot in it when I told my son she looks more like her mom than him! I guess I shot myself in the foot over that, because he thinks she looks like him somewhat too. I was just trying to put my best foot forward but instead I got off on the wrong foot! My bride said I really put my foot in my mouth.

I guess my son is just following in my footsteps. I always wondered who he looked like but that question really puts the shoe on the other foot doesn’t it? I wonder if I dare set foot in his house again!

There are just some subjects one should not touch with a ten-foot pole. His reaction made me feel like I had one foot in the grave. But then his wife put her foot down and told me their daughter is a mix of both of them.

In order to get back in his good graces, I had to get my foot in the door with an explanation; I decided I would have to stop pussy-footing around. So, I said I would foot the bill for their baby-sitter and they should go out to dinner. But not having any cash, I agreed to be the baby sitter and wait hand and foot on my grand-daughter.

It was a fun evening just the little one and me, we played footsie and generally we were footloose and fancy free. I’m sure the entire affair will go down as a footnote in history.
