Say your piece

DEFINITION

(Old fashioned) Speak up. State your opinion. Offer the opportunity to explain oneself. The phrase urges a chance to say something which others do not want to listen to but it is your one and only time to speak. (Contrast with the difference of Hold your peace.)

“Before we  hang the cattle rustler, let him say his piece.”
