Profit because of someone’s naivete or innocence. Illegally and/or immorally earn money deceptively. A scam is a fake promise, invention or product. (Compare to Take advantage of, Rook, Conned, Hoodwink, Take for a ride, Hornswoggle, Scam or Rip-off.)
