Shoot the breeze

DEFINITION

Casual conversation. Reference to the ‘breeze’ means a light, easy conversation about nothing specific and by shooting it,  you are simply having a dialogue, a chat. (Compare to Rapping, Chew the fat or Chit-chat.)

 I saw my old friend from high school and we just sat around the café and shot the breeze.
