DEFINITION

Family secrets. Hidden truths. Someone is hiding an embarrassing fact about their life. ‘Skeletons’ refers to a family history that you don’t want to expose to the public, that is why you keep them hidden in the closet away from the light of day.  (Compare to Speckled past,  Bares-all or Keep under wraps).
