Slap together

Hurried preparation. Haphazardly built. Poorly planned.  Inferior construction. A hurried carpenter might slap together some boards to make a less than wonderful dog house; on the day a report is due, a student may slap together some ideas and scribble them down; either way, the end result is less than stellar outcome. The phrase also implies laziness towards a project. (Compare to Sling hash, Throw together, Willy-nilly or Pretty good.)

“The president needs a speech for tomorrow and you can’t just slap something together without reviewing it with his assistants.”
