Suck-up

DEFINITION

A person who tries to gain promotion through gratification to the boss.  Suck up indicates a desire to gain higher status or warmer feelings by currying favor from one’s superiors. (Compare to Brown nose. Different from Suck it  up.)

“Don’t trust the office manager because he is always sucking-up to the boss and will stab you in the back if needed.”
