Take it easy

DEFINITION

Relax. Slow down. A warning about your stress level. Advice on one’s irritability. What is being taken easily is one’s comportment, one’s attitude, one’s physical strain.  If while walking you start to huff and puff, you may be asked to take it easy;  if you are working a mile-a-minute and sweating heavily,  your boss may tell you to take it easy; if you are yelling and complaining about the president,  your spouse or roommate may tell you to take it easy.(Compare to Kick back.)
