Taxing Subject

Taxing Subject                                                                                       April 15, 2018

Money is the source of all evil, or so I wrote to the Internal Revenue Service on why I hadn’t paid them. They appear to think I’m made of money, that I have money to burn! They expect me to pay all my simoleons, smackers to them.

My CPA was on the money when he said the IRS makes out like bandits with my loot. I hoped they would tell me my money is no good here, but that didn’t happen.

Now if I were raking in the money, you know, easy money as if money grew on trees, I wouldn’t feel so bad paying some to them. But in truth, all I have is a little pocket money. I’m not making money hand over fist, like some Silicon Valley billionaire who makes money off of our social media.

Not for love or money would I shirk my civic duties to pay. But if I put my money where my mouth is (I wouldn’t be able to eat)! So, I keep wondering where the smart money goes–to the Cayman Islands perhaps or Panama? Oh well.

Pay your taxes this April 15 and remember your family and friends are more important than all the money in the world.
