Water under the bridge

DEFINITION

Past problem should be forgotten or a previous mistake is in the past. It suggests that, like a flowing river, some past incident has long past and need not be remembered. (Compare to Spilled milk.)

“I know¬† you want to talk about our divorce, but that is unnecessary, it’s water under the bridge.”
