YUP = Young, upwardly-mobile person. Has become an old fashioned word overtaken by boomer, millinieal and gen x. Typically is a disparaging term about young people or young couples of the 1980’s and 1990’s who have good jobs and money and less demanding lifestyles compared to past generations.
